Let’s Look: A Beginners Guide to Christian Art Appreciation

In this session we will use Caravaggio’s masterful painting “The Calling of St. Matthew” to practice basic art analysis and show how we as Christians can view specific pieces of art from a redemptive perspective. We will discuss the formal elements of art and basic principles of analysis, as well as the historical and artistic context of the piece.
